Fabric, colour & print

Real fabric has character. Here is what to expect from the colours, prints, textures and measurements of AMLAND co-ord sets, palazzo sets and suit material — and why small variations are a natural part of beautiful clothing.

01Colour & shade

We photograph every AMLAND piece in carefully controlled light and edit images to look as close to real life as possible. Even so, colour can appear slightly different on your phone or laptop because every screen displays colour differently, and because daylight, warm light and studio light all change how a fabric looks.

Fabrics dyed in different batches may also differ very slightly in shade. These variations are natural and are not considered a defect.

02Print placement & patterns

Prints, stripes, checks and motifs are cut from large lengths of fabric, so the exact position of a flower, stripe or motif on your piece may differ from the one in the photos. Stripes and checks may not match perfectly at every seam. This is a normal part of garment production and does not affect the quality of your piece.

03Texture, slub & weave

Many of our fabrics, such as cotton slub, linen blends and jacquards, have natural texture: small slubs (thicker threads), gentle unevenness or visible weave lines. These features give the fabric its character and breathability, and they are not flaws.

04Embroidery, zari & embellishments

Embroidery, zari, sequins, pintucks and other embellishments may have slight irregularities in thread tension, spacing or placement, especially where finishing is done by hand. Small loose threads can be trimmed carefully. Metallic zari can show minor variations in shine.

05Measurements & fit

Garment measurements on our size charts are approximate and may vary by up to about 1 inch due to the nature of fabric, cutting and finishing. Each style has its own size chart on the product page — please check it before ordering, and see our Size Guide for how to measure yourself.

06Dyes & colour bleeding

Deep and bright shades (such as black, navy, wine, maroon and fuchsia) may release a little excess dye in the first few washes. Always wash dark and bright colours separately in cold water, and do not soak them. Follow our Fabric Care Guide to keep colours rich for longer.

07Shrinkage

Natural fibres like cotton and linen can shrink slightly after washing, especially in warm water or a dryer. Wash in cold water and dry in the shade to minimise this. For unstitched suit material, we recommend a gentle cold soak or dry cleaning before stitching.

08Unstitched suit material

Fabric lengths for unstitched suits (typically about 2.5 m each for top, bottom and dupatta) are approximate and may vary slightly. Woven borders and jacquard motifs may fall differently along the length. Please see our Unstitched Suit Material Guide before stitching.

09What counts as a genuine defect

The natural variations described above are not defects. Genuine defects include holes, tears, stains, a broken zip or button, a missing piece of the set, or receiving the wrong item. If you receive a defective item, message us within 7 days of delivery with your 360° unboxing video and we will make it right, as per our Returns, Exchange & Refund Policy.
