01What’s in your set

Each AMLAND unstitched suit set typically includes three pieces. Exact fabric, work and lengths are listed on every product page.

PieceTypical lengthUsually
Top (kurta)~2.5 mThe statement piece — jacquard weave, zari or thread work
Bottom~2.5 mPlain or coordinated fabric for salwar, pants or palazzo
Dupatta~2.5 mWoven or bordered dupatta to complete the look

02Is the fabric enough for my style?

About 2.5 m of top fabric is comfortable for most straight, A-line and regular kurta styles in standard sizes. Very long, heavily flared or full-sleeve styles, or larger sizes, may need extra fabric — ask your tailor to measure the fabric before cutting and plan the style accordingly.

Fabric lengths are approximate and can vary slightly. Ask your tailor to check the length before cutting, so the design can be planned around the border or motif.

03Style ideas

  • Straight kurta + straight pants — clean, modern and perfect for office and day functions.
  • A-line kurta + palazzo — relaxed and flowy for summer and family gatherings.
  • Kurta + salwar with the dupatta draped on one shoulder — classic and festive.
  • Short kurta + cigarette pants — a contemporary look for younger, everyday styling.

04Prepare the fabric before stitching

  1. Check every piece and its length when you receive it, and record your unboxing video.
  2. For cotton and cotton jacquard, give the fabric a gentle soak in cold water and dry it in the shade to pre-shrink.
  3. For Banarasi, silk-blend or zari-heavy fabric, prefer dry cleaning instead of washing.
  4. Iron on low to medium heat on the reverse side before handing it to your tailor.

05What to tell your tailor

  • Your bust, waist, hip, shoulder, armhole and preferred kurta and sleeve length.
  • How you want the border or jacquard motif placed — at the hem, neckline or sleeves.
  • Whether you want lining for lighter fabrics, and the neckline and slit style you prefer.
  • To keep a little seam allowance so the outfit can be altered later if needed.

06Lining & finishing

Lighter cotton and jacquard fabrics may look sheer in bright light. A soft cotton lining gives a cleaner fall and more comfort. Lining fabric is not included unless mentioned on the product page.

07Exchanges & returns for suit material

Unstitched fabric can be returned or exchanged within 7 days of delivery with a clear 360° unboxing video, provided it is uncut, unstitched, unwashed and in its original fold. Fabric that has been cut, washed or stitched cannot be returned. See our Returns, Exchange & Refund Policy.
